In our gastronomic restaurant Aurum, we are looking for a Maître d’Hôtel to strengthen our team.

The Aurum team serves balanced and refined dishes in a unique setting.

Aurum is part of the five-star Kasteel van Ordingen, a gem in the heart of Haspengouw (near Sint-Truiden and Hasselt). The castle estate also includes 32 rooms and suites, Bistro Richard, a wellness area, a maximalist lounge, 3 meeting rooms for business events, as well as a pear orchard and vineyard. As a member of Relais & Châteaux, we strive to provide an exceptional guest experience in a family-oriented and authentic environment.

• Lead the dining room team at Restaurant Aurum
• Provide each guest with a unique fine dining experience and ensure professional, dynamic service
• Participate in mise en place
• Welcome guests warmly and escort them to their tables
• Take and process orders
• General product and beverage knowledge
• Knowledge of and interest in wines is a plus
• Maintain order and cleanliness in the dining room
• Ensure smooth communication between the chef, kitchen team, and hotel reception, including regarding special requests and allergies
• Organize back-office operations
• Maintain and replenish stock
• Accurately handle cash register operations and payments

• Passion for hospitality and high-level gastronomy
• Strong sense of responsibility and perseverance
• Work experience in a similar role and/or in a fine dining restaurant
• Motivated and ambitious to exceed guest expectations
• Excellent social and communication skills
• Friendly and polished appearance, with a broad smile
• Solution-oriented team player who can also work independently
• Flexible and stress-resistant attitude
• Broad language skills in Dutch, English, and/or French
